Robin Kurtz: A Seattle transplant, Robin has worked with a multitude of companies focused on new plays such as, Theater Simple, Book-It Repertory and Theater Schmeater’s production of John Lennon’s Gargoyle, directed by Jerry Manning. She’s a company member of the Nerve Tank in NYC, most recently as Persephone in The Maiden at LaMama. Other productions with the Nerve Tank include, Glory Road, The Attendants at the World Financial Center Winter Garden, Pitch!, or something sexy, Live/Feed, and bauhaus the bauhaus.
Additionally, she’s collaborated with choreographer/dancer, Alethea Adsitt on her dance/theater work, Jalopy, Empty Room, and many others, as both an actor, writer and acting coach. Robin has toured Russia with the Irondale Ensemble Project in the company’s adaptation of Jack Black’s novel, You Can’t Win, and throughout Europe with Insight America’s, True West. Her most recent film credits include Helen in Total Retribution, Mayor Diane Reamed in A Nuclear Autumn, Ronnie in Clonehunter, and Sergeant Dublin in Shadow Virus. Webisodes include, A Toby Prepares. She’s worked in education programs in the New York City public school system with the Irondale Ensemble Project teaching HIV/AIDS education and improvisation, and has worked with Book-It All Over, teaching kids to create and dramatize their own stories.
Ms. Kurtz received her BFA in Acting with honors from Carnegie Mellon University, trained at BADA in the Midsummer in Oxford Program, and studied improv with Keith Johnstone, Roberta Maguire of Second City, and Matt Smith.
